Neighbours Helping Neighbours
Free telephone support service for older and vulnerable people in the community
Working in conjunction with other communities and services within the West Belfast area, this project will reduce the feeling of fear, vulnerability and isolation felt by elderly and other vulnerable people in the community. It will help to promote health, well-being and safety through the provision of information of existing services locally
A support team based in the Ardmonagh Family Centre will provide a free telephone service for the elderly and those who are the most vulnerable in the community.
"ALLOWING PEOPLE TO FEEL SAFE IN THEIR OWN HOMES."
A member of our support team will phone our clients daily, morning and evening to check on their well - being. The project will allow people to feel safe in their own home and will promote community involvement. It will provide information on community services and events in your area.
The service aims to:
- help people feel safe in their home
- reduce the fear of crime and anti-social behaviour
- reduce the feeling of isolation
- improve health and social well-being
- create awareness of community services
- create awareness of local community events
