Mission
Enhance the quality for the residents of Belfast through the provision of relevant, accessible, affordable and well managed supported family and childcare services.
Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as making sure the non-profit has adequate resources to advance its mission.
Position
The Board will support the work of Ardmonagh Family and Community Group and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by Richard May chief executive officer (CEO), the Board and CEO relationship is a partnership, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. Specific Board Member responsibilities include:
Leadership, governance and oversight
- Serving as a trusted advisor to the CEO as he develops and implements Ardmonagh Family and Community Group strategic plan
- Reviewing outcomes and metrics created by CEO for evaluating its impact, and regularly measuring its performance and effectiveness using those metrics; reviewing agenda and supporting materials prior to board and finance subcommittee meetings
- Approving Ardmonagh Family and Community Groups annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions; being informed of, and meeting all, legal and fiduciary responsibilities
